The Official Portrait of the Feast

Picture
The 29th of October
Artist:
Timothy Jones
Medium: Painting, oil on panel
The title of this piece was taken from Hilaire Belloc's book, "The Four Men", and is the fictional day on which the four fellow travelers in the book first agree to walk across the county of Sussex (Belloc's home) in England in a kind of pilgrimage; "It was agreed thus between us that we should walk through the whole county to the place we knew, and recover, while they yet could be recovered, the principal joys of the soul..."
